Goatlandia, a farm animal sanctuary northwest of Santa Rosa, is hosting an Aug. 11 fundraiser at Lynmar Estates and Winery. The nonprofit needs someone with great phone skills to reach out to businesses for donations. It also needs volunteers to help prepare and serve food and watch the animals during the event. Santa Rosa’s Earle Baum Center of the Blind is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 21. Volunteers are needed to man the information booths, help serve food and guide guests around the event.

Santa Rosa organizations team up to donate blood amid pandemic

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic canceled many events throughout Santa Rosa, including blood donation drives. When the call for donors came from Vitalant, members of the Active 20-30 of Santa Rosa #50 and the Santa Rosa Moose Lodge answered the call. About 50 members signed up to donate blood while practicing social distancing and wearing facial masks.
